Tim Fields is the founder and driving force behind Stone It International. Raised in North Carolina, Mr. Fields developed an early work ethic and competitive mindset that would later define his professional career. After completing college, he relocated to Myrtle Beach South Carolina in 1986, where he began building the foundation of what would become one of the most influential companies in the global stone industry.
In 1992, Mr. Fields founded Stone It, guiding the company from a regional contractor into a nationally recognized leader. His vision, discipline, and operational focus fueled rapid growth, culminating in his recognition as National Businessman of the Year in 2002 for his leadership and achievements with Stone It.
Mr. Fields’ background as a collegiate wrestler shaped his approach to business—emphasizing perseverance, strategic thinking, and resilience under pressure. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is also an accomplished pilot, a pursuit that reflects both his precision-driven mindset and his global outlook on business.

Stone It International traces its origins to 1992 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where the company was founded as a regional tile and stone contractor. From its earliest days, Stone It distinguished itself through craftsmanship, reliability, and an ability to deliver complex projects at scale. This foundation enabled rapid growth, and by the early 2001 the company had become the largest tile and stone contractor in the state of South Carolina.
Under the leadership of Mr. Fields, Stone It entered a period of transformative expansion between 1998 and 2005, playing a central role in shaping the modern skyline of South Carolina’s Grand Strand. During this period, the company was instrumental in the construction of numerous high-rise developments, including Margate Tower, the largest condominium high-rise in South Carolina. These landmark projects firmly established Stone It as the contractor of choice for large-scale, high-profile developments.
In 2002, Stone It made a strategic move into the granite quarry business, establishing operations in Brazil. This expansion marked the company’s evolution from contractor to vertically integrated stone supplier, with direct control over sourcing, fabrication, and distribution. Operations rapidly expanded throughout Brazil, positioning Stone It at the center of one of the world’s most important natural stone regions.
In 2007, Stone It reached a new global milestone by contracting in Dubai on the construction of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world. This project propelled the company onto the international stage and accelerated its growth into a global enterprise. From this point forward, Stone It expanded aggressively, becoming a leading supplier of marble, granite, and travertine to major projects worldwide.
Through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, Stone It consolidated numerous small and mid-sized granite quarry operations across Brazil, forming the largest conglomerate of granite quarry companies in the country. This consolidation strengthened supply stability, increased production capacity, and set new standards for efficiency and scale in the global stone industry.
Today, Stone It International stands as the world’s largest stone logistics and shipping company, delivering natural stone materials for major architectural and infrastructure projects across the globe. In 2024 alone, Stone It shipped more than $10.8 billion in project materials worldwide. With offices in Brazil, Australia, Dubai, China, Germany, Japan and throughout Europe, Stone It continues to lead the industry through scale, logistics expertise, and a commitment to excellence that began more than three decades ago.
